Cleaning the washing machine
Clean the washing machine’s lint filter before and after dyeing. Wipe off any paint residue on metal, plastic and rubber parts after painting with a damp cloth.
Handling & Storage
Store frost-free. Avoid direct contact with concentrated paint. Handling recommendations differ between different shades. For more information, see the respective color’s outer packaging.
Paint residues are left at the environmental station or flushed down the drain with a lot of water. The bottle is handed over to packaging recycling and sorted as hard plastic packaging.
Do thisChoose the dyeing temperature according to the washing advice for your clothes and home textiles; 30, 40 or 60 degrees. In general, a higher dyeing temperature (60 degrees) gives a slightly better color yield, i.e. the color becomes a little richer.
Dye in the washing machine (max 1500g textile)
To prevent detergent residues from affecting the dyeing, clean the fluff filter before and after dyeing.
- Weigh the dry textiles. One bottle dyes 500 g for a full shade and up to 1500 g for a lighter shade.
- Start by pouring 1 kg of salt and the contents of the fixer bag into the back of the washing machine drum.
- Unscrew the cap on the bottle and place it in the washing machine drum.
- Put the soaked textiles in the washing machine.
- Set the washing machine to color wash without prewash and choose 30, 40 or 60 degrees. Choose as long a wash time as possible and a full amount of water. No wool washing program.
- After dyeing, wash out the excess color from your dyed textiles by running a color wash program without detergent. Dry as normal laundry.
- Wipe rubber, plastic and metal parts with a damp cloth. Clean the lint filter.
Dye by hand (max 500g textile)
Use a vessel that is suitable for heating on the stove and that is not used for cooking. Use rubber gloves and protect delicate surfaces. Check that the textiles are clean and weigh the dry garments. Do not dye more than 500g of textile by hand.
- Fill a large container with 10 liters of cold water.
- Pour in the fabric dye. Add 1 bag of fix and 1 kg of salt. Stir.
- Add the soaked textiles and then place the pan on the stove.
- Make sure the water stays 30-60 degrees at all times. Stir at regular intervals for about 30 minutes.
- Then rinse thoroughly, without twisting, 3 times in cold water.
- Wash off the excess color in 30-6o degrees warm water, without detergent, for 15 minutes. Rinse once more before drying.
